AHELP Guest Blogging Guidelines

  1. Original Content: Your submission must be original and not previously published elsewhere, including your website or blog.
  2. Word Count: Submissions should be between 800 and 2,000 words in length.
  3. Formatting: Use clear headings, subheadings, and bullet points for easy readability. We can help you with this if you'd like.
  4. Language: Please write in English, clearly, concisely, and free of grammatical and contextual errors. Our team will proofread, insert high-ranking keywords, and return it for your approval.
  5. Sources and Citations: Provide links to relevant, reputable sources to support your claims and information. If you send a link to your source, we’ll assist in presenting it in citation format.
  6. No Promotion: Your post should not promote specific products or services. Focus on sharing valuable information and experiences.
  7. Bio: A length of 75-80 characters (2-5 sentences) is usually perfect. Include a headshot or pic with a pet. Include two links to your site(s) and/or social media accounts for backlinks.
  8. Photo(s): Include anything relevant to your story, one horizontally oriented for a banner and more if you can, to be inset into the article/newsletter. Especially for your bio, you can make a stronger impact when the pictures feature you or other humans, such as your vet, or when you are engaged in activities related to the subject of the story. Please nclude a headshot or thumbnail for your bio.
  9. “Tails Theme”: Tell your personal story! As a caregiver, it helps to feature the “lessons learned,” As a professional, share your perspective with a pet or family you served.

Consider allowing us to repurpose your content for my Pet Hospice Tips and Tails Newsletter on LinkedIn, which is designed for animal or family-allied practitioners who are already working in the field or who aspire to do so. They say storytelling is the most memorable content, so I use snippets of those “tails” to make a lesson more heartfelt and impactful.

Please refer to our Blog for examples and ideas that will inspire you. We publish blogs twice monthly, at the beginning and the middle of each month. Please join our online community and sign up for our newsletter if you have not done so.

Are you short on time or not a writer? We got you! I can interview and/or coach you through it. If you'd like to submit an article or run ideas by me, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thank you for considering becoming a Pet Hospice Tips and Tails Blog contributor!
