In February, the Kirkland Circle will be an informational/Q & A presentation for the first hour followed by an hour of sharing.
- Learn about our new field of animal hospice and palliative care, and how it may benefit you and your animal family member.
- Equip yourself with tools and strategies that can assist in the end-of-life journey.
- Gain coping strategies to manage your feelings before your loss and throughout the hospice period.
- Find comfort after your loss in the support from like-minded animal lovers.
I'm looking forward to meeting you there! Please note that attendance is limited. To ensure your place at the event, please "buy a ticket," at no charge.
We recommend you invite a friend or family member. When you reserve a ticket, you will be given the option to "Invite Others." They don't need to have a ticket when they are coming with the primary intention to offer you support.
Your animal companion is welcome; please bring a bed or comfy place for him or her to lay and a blanket if you're concerned about temperature. Consider bringing a photo or a memento for sharing if your animal friend isn't able to come or has already passed away. Tea, coffee and light snacks will be offered.
We meet in the Education Room. Go through the main entrance and turn down the first hallway. Go past the bathrooms and the vending machines on the left and the Rehabilitation Room on the right. The doorway is at the end of the hall.
Especially if there is some period of time until our next Circle, consider our Comprehensive Care Home Visits, where our team will come to you for support to include: a Hospice Team Coordinator, an AHELPer volunteer and a veterinarian or vet tech. We all companion you in your journey and ensure continued comfort physically, emotionally and spiritually for you and your animal and extended human family, too.
